Epoxy Info for Builders

The floor seems to be one of the last things done or thought of in commercial builds, probably for good reasons. After 20 years working with working with builders of all sizes, we are used to working on tight deadlines to produce quaility work.

Service Area

We do any epoxy work on the Sunshine Coast. Anything over 70m# in Brisbane, or Gympie. Anything over 200m# elsewhere in Queensland. Happy to go anywhere including overseas for over 400m#.

Services

We do all things epoxy, roll on, trowel on systems of any thickness, epoxy coving, epoxy falls, walls and grouting.

Quoting

We are happy to quote off the plan, over the phone or come and see you on site. Include a bill of quantities if you have one.

Laying the Floor

Laying an epoxy floor is normally done over at least three days, it does depend size and system that is to be done.

Day 1

During the first day there is a lot of preperation to be done, grinding and cleanign the floor. Most this time it will be fine to have other trades there working on the floor if necessary.

Depending on the size of the job, we will lay the primer coat on the floor late on the first day. This will allow it to dry over night.

Day 2

On the second morning, the floor will be dry and if really necessary other trades can work neatly on the floor. This is often the day that the coving is done, cracks are filled, falls made and patches done. In the afternoon other trades may have to clear out to allow the next coat to be put on.

Day 3

This involves laying the final coat and putting the non-slip in. You should be sure of the colour your client want before this day as well as where they want to be non-slip. Once laid the floor will need around 12 hours in to cure to a walklable level and a bit longer before you can start pulling heavey machines over it.
